Fossil fuels

Fossil fuels are hydrocarbon containing natural resources like coal oil and natural gas. They are also known as mineral fuels. The utilization of fossil fuels has enabled large-scale industrial development, and there is a strong and world-wide energy dependency them. In modern times, this dependency can be seen as a major source of regional and global conflict. Emissions of carbon dioxide are produced by burning fossil fuels. Carbon dioxide is a green house gas (GHG) that contributes to the green house effect. Fossil fuels are believed to be a finite resource, as opposed to renewable energy sources such as the sun, wind, flowing water, biological processes, and geothermal heat flows.
