Bellona participates at key international fora for CCS
This week Bellona is discussing the possibilities for CO2 capture and storage (CCS) in developing countries at two major international events – the "Addressing barriers to CCS in developing countries" conference in Washington, D.C. and a United Nations workshop in Abu Dhabi.

Bellona’s 25th Anniversary Conference: IEA GHG’s Dixon: Thousands of tonnes of CO2 could be removed from the air with carbon-negative solutions
The potential for carbon-negative solutions is enormous, said a report presented on Thursday at Bellona's 25th Anniversary Conference. As much as three gigatons of carbon dioxide could be removed from the Earth’s atmosphere – and the time for the promising technologies to be on politicians’ agenda is now.

California dreams give it a starring role in the fight against climate change
Ninety eight percent of California's gigantic energy sector may be CO2-free in 2050. "They can also take the rest of the United States with them in fight against climate change, but it will take time - and it will cost money, "said Carl Bauer at Bellona's 25th anniversary conference today.

UK removes final hurdle to CO2 storage industry

Prior to the summer the UK government ran a public consultation regarding proposed changes to the licensing and leasing of offshore energy in UK waters. The Offshore Energy Strategic Environmental Assessment (ONSEA2) expands provisions to include renewable energy sources and CCS.

CCS community needs to clarify its demands for incentive

On the 4th of October the General Assembly of the European Technology Platform for Zero Emission Fossil Fuel Power Plants (ZEP) took place, with an increasing sense of urgency that the platform needs to be clearer about what public policies it wants to make CCS commercially viable.
