Norway and UK to share £3.9 million burden of dismantling Russian November class sub
Norway and the United Kingdom will again combine funding and expertise to dismantle an aging Russian nuclear submarine under the aegis of the Global Threat Reduction Plan, Britain’s Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks announced in a statement Wednesday.

Lack of environmental impact study puts British-funded dismantlement of two Russian subs on holdThe
British Under-Secretary of State of Trade and Industry Nigel Griffiths this Tuesday toured Severodvinsk in Northwest Russia to inspect progress on the British-funded dismantlement of two Oscar I class submarines. Unfortunately for Griffiths, the inspection took place under a cloud, as no environmental impact study on the submarines' £11.5m ($21.5m) has yet been performed, the discovery of which has caused an enforced cessation of the project's major work.

Russia to dismantled all decommissioned nuke subs by 2012, says Zvezdochka

Russia will dismantle all decommissioned nuclear-powered submarines by the beginning of 2012, according to Vladimir Nikitin, general director of the Zvezdochka shipyard in Severodvinsk, northern Russia as quoted by the RIA Novosti Russia newswire.

Crime group stole metals from retired nuclear submarines

Police in Severodvinsk (Arkhangelsk region) has arrested members of an organised crime group, which was stealing significant amounts of the titan metal from retired nuclear submarines during the last two years.
