Laetitia Birkeland holds a Master degree in international private law from the University La Sorbonne in Paris, as well as an Executive Master in Energy Management. She joined Bellona in 2007 after many years practice as a lawyer, first in France then in Norway at Wikborg Rein & Co. At Bellona, her area of focus moved from being mainly related to specific legal issues (particularly within CCS, and to some extent waste, oil industry) to be more related to policy and regulations and framework for investments in the area covered by the EU climate and energy package (GHG, energy efficiency and renewable). She wrote her Consultancy project on the common electricity certificate market between Norway and Sweden, a looked at the possibilities to wich extent such a market could be extended to other EU countries. Birkeland is currently part of the team working on Clean Energy Norway where she will mainly work within the electricity market and energy efficiency. |
