CIUDEN - La Fundación Ciudad de la Energía – is the primary Spanish Government institution for the development of programs for CO2 capture and geological storage (CCS).
The seismic survey is the first phase of the work to be carried out before constructing the R&D plant. The survey will last till the end of August 2010 with an estimated cost of nearly 4 million euro.
The next phase will be the data processing and the study of the area and the first test injections of CO2 which are expected to take place throughout 2011 and 2012.
The total investment from the Spanish Government through CIUDEN to carry out the research will be around 20 million euro by 2012.
