21.10 - Northwest Russia Renewable Energy Forum

The Bellona Foundation and Bellona Murmansk are organising the first meeting of the Northwest Russia Renewable Energy Forum in autumn 2008. This one and a half day meeting will be held at the Meridian Hotel, Murmansk, Russia on October 21 - 22, 2008.

The seminar is sponsored by the Norwegian Barents Secretariat, the Research Council of Norway, Varanger Kraft AS, Alta Kraftlag AL, Sør-Varanger municipality. and Finnmark County.

This forum will take the form of a general plenum session focusing on renewable energy potential, financing and legislation, as well as specific working group sessions targeting development of wind energy and bioenergy in Northwest Russia.

In April 2008, The Bellona Foundation and Bellona Murmansk established the Northwest Russia Renewable Energy Forum as a professional arena for dialogue, cooperation, research and technology exchange between Nordic and Russian actors interested in participating in renewable energy development in Northwest Russia. Bellona invites government representatives, energy suppliers, renewable energy companies, researchers, project developer, investors and NGOs to take part in this forum.

Registration deadline: September 22nd.

Conference fee: 2500 NOK (students/researchers: 1000 NOK)

No fee for NGO'es

The number of participants for this meeting is limited to 50 persons.

To register, please send your name, a completed visa application and a scanned copy of your passport to vlad@bellona.no and indicate which working group you would like to join. Bellona will assist with invitations and visas.
